Girls Soccer:
Up to this point, BGS is standing at a 6-win, 2-loss, 1-tie standing and currently ranked 6th in the state. With aspirations of finishing top two in conference, making it back to the bank, and taking home the state title, BGS has been on a hot streak. Most recently senior Lottie West stepped in as goalie for the game against Providence with a 2-0 shutout showing the potential of the versatile team leading up to bigger games, especially considering that Providence is ranked #1 in the state overall. Driven by top scorers Jojo Weissman (‘25) and Akilah Anderson (‘27), the team is looking forward to finishing up with a strong season.
Girls Swim and Dive:
So far Breck Girls Swim and Dive have been having a great season, placing 3rd out of 6 at the Tonka invite, a win against Armstrong, Benilde, Hutch, and most recently Blake for the 18th year in a row. The team’s looking forward to another successful season with strong swims, especially among senior Ava Allingham and sophomore Amelia Wachs. As always the team has the goal of winning sections for the 12th year in a row and sending some swims and relays to state with hopes of a top 5 placing with some qualifying finals swims. For a sport with a lack of spectators, they are looking forward to some more dubs led by B’dubs with the season coming to a close in December.
Boys Football:
Reaching almost mid-season the Breck Boys Football team is at a 1-win, 3-loss standing. With the homecoming game next Friday the 27th against St. Croix Lutheran, the team is looking forward to a win with a very high attendance. Captains Benje Sullivan, Alex Grant, and Nolan LaMere all have goals of winning as many games as possible, making a run in sections, and improving offense.
Girls Tennis:
Half way through the season, BGT stands 2nd in their conference with a record of 6 wins and 3 losses. Aiming to make it back to state as a team, BGT’s jam-packed schedule is full of tough opponents. Individually the talent in the program is more diverse than ever. With multiple state prospects the team continues to work towards their goal of bringing home the conference championship. BGT is looking forward to facing rival opponents in the near future including Blake on September 26th.
Girls Volleyball:
Girls Volleyball, led by five captains, has had a good season so far with the words from none other than captain Grace Murphy (‘26) herself as a “comeback season.” With strong captains Georgia Hoffman (‘25) and Grace Murphy (‘26), the team is proving their words as the season starts to ramp up. With a goal at the beginning of the season to beat their record from last year, BGVB has already exceeded their own expectations. With hopes of improving their record by even more, girls Volleyball will continue to face challenging opponents with 100% effort.
Boys Soccer :
To date, the boy’s soccer team has won 3 games, lost 2, and tied 2 games. With hopes of performing well at sections, the team is at a respectable point with bigger games coming up in the near future. The team has some ambitious goals of making state, achieving an end-of-season winning record, and replacing their #2 spot with a #1 state rank. Led by goal scorers Jonah Dorman (‘27), Duncan Armour (‘25), Dane Kindred (‘26), and Ellis Pressing (‘27) the team continues to thrive under pressure. Junior captain Elan (‘26) says, “he has high expectations for the team and with a slow start, he believes they can catch their stride in their upcoming games.”
Cross Country:
Breck Cross Country has had an admirable season so far with four meets. Senior Esme Gulbransen placed 1st overall in the Islander invite meet. She has provided the team with points through her PR’s. Junior Mac West says he is “excited to see where the season takes the team.” The team is looking to make an impressionable appearance in sections with multiple contenders for state. Furthermore, the team has a goal of creating a strong environment and base for the cross country program at Breck.
