Did Breck’s new 2024 Homecoming DJs pass the test? Will they make a return for next year? Breck hired three different DJ’s for all the Homecoming activities. Which one was the student-wide favorite?
First, for coronation, Breck chose the official Minnesota Timberwolves DJ group, GenerationNOW Entertainment, to mix some beats. Breck has never had a DJ with such an impressive background so this was a big jump from the standard. Throughout coronation, we got mashups of some of the most trending songs and the whole school got pretty hyped. From the lower schoolers to the high schoolers, everyone agreed it was one of the best homecoming coronations yet. With songs beloved by all age groups, GenerationNOW Entertainment truly succeeded in bringing together the whole Breck community. All together, the coronation DJ truly made this year super memorable.
After a show-stopping performance by the coronation DJ, it was time for the homecoming dance. For this event, Breck decided to hire two new DJ’s who would work together to create some fantastic beats, DJ Sota and J.Plaza. High schoolers have higher standards for the music at the dance than the music at the coronation, making the pressure on these DJ’s sky high. Would they live up to the expectations? The dance started pretty slow with only the freshman there to get the party started. The beats were good but the energy was nowhere in sight. The beats needed help to come alive! Thankfully, once the upperclassmen showed up, the vibe was matched. The DJs crafted the perfect set that made everyone immediately bust a move. It was amazing! This type of energy and participation at a school dance was truly unprecedented. The songs ranged from Pitbull to Taylor Swift and catered to all crowds. Students couldn’t help but dance with their friends and sing along!
Choosing the best Homecoming DJ is a difficult challenge, as there are really no bad choices. All three really exceeded expectations. After talking with peers, friends, and family, I concluded that the DJ group from GenerationNOW entertainment was ultimately the best and a fan favorite. They brought a whole new level of fun to homecoming that we’ve never seen before with a fresh set of mashups. Stay tuned to see what the Homecoming 2025 DJs bring to the dance floor.
