More Breck students seemed to support Breck’s current AI policy than not. 57% of respondents said the policy was useful, and about two-thirds of them thought that the policy struck the right balance between being too strict and too lenient.
Interestingly, more Breck students thought that the policy was “just right” than those who thought it was useful. This was reflected in some of the student responses

below. Some students described feeling that no matter the details of the policy, it would not be able to be properly enforced. Shout out Juniors for being the most responsive class! Want to get your voice heard in our next issue? Make sure to vote!
Student thoughts (Edited for Clarity):
“It’s a little vague. Am I allowed to use AI to help me with study guides? Proofreading? Homework help? Does grammarly count as AI?” – Junior
“Breck needs to be clear that the default position on AI is that it is not allowed unless there is an exception. Too many students use AI on school assignments.” – Senior
“I don’t have intense care for this [issue]; students will do what they want no matter what” – Junior

VOTE: What do you think about Breck’s schedule?
If there is one issue that affects everyone at Breck, from students to teachers, it’s the schedule, which has changed in some form every year in recent memory. The administration has to balance a number of factors every year, from unique classes and Community Partnerships, to Chapel and Mustang Block, a combination of factors that makes it hard to satisfy everybody.
With discussions about Tutorial, Blue and Gold Days, and the length of the lunch period, the schedule remains a polarizing issue. So what are you waiting for? Make your voice heard! Teachers, administrators, and students alike are welcome!
